The time has come.
It's the second half of our Artist Roundup series, and you are in for a treat. Because believe it or not, you'll hear me interview...wait...here it comes...you'll be amazed...
It's true. I think he merits an entire show by himself, but Motte disagrees. Lame. So as the next best thing, My Man Bill is sharing the spotlight with Molly Jenson, a new artist from Southern California who is laid-back, fun and writes cool music like her current album, Maybe Tomorrow. Also in on the interview is Mark Joseph. He runs the label that houses Molly's music, but has his fingers all over the entertainment industry. I chat with them about indie music, the over-marketization (is that a word?) of all things Christian, and how to stay in the entertainment biz with your integrity intact. Oh, and we talk about lyrics, including my fave lyric from Sixpence None the Richer.
Then it's on to Bill. There's nothing really for me to say here, because I rhapsodize about him at length on the show itself. But you should know that in addition to his featured music this week (no, Bekah, it's not the entire song in each clip, the Gaither Vocal Band just has long songs), my interview with him is worth a listen. He talks about the legacy of Gospel music, what God has taught him in the past 70+ years, and what he hopes to see in and from our generation. He also assures me that, contrary to popular belief, I'm not a crazy stalker, but in fact his new BFF. Whew.
So for at least this week, give Southern Gospel a chance. And get a good dose of Molly, too. This is musical diversity at its best! But that's what we're about at The Boundless Show. It's all for you. (And maybe just a little bit for me.)
Let the praise-fest begin!

You know, "It Is Finished" was really inspirational. It was great to hear a song talk about the battle won, the triumph over the forces of evil, and victory.
Sometimes I miss that in modern worship music. It seems the majority of it is a little...soft? Maybe I'm having a testosterone fit, but occasionally I like hearing about God going out and kicking a little Prince of Darkness butt!
:-)

Lisa-
How fitting that the first webcast I was able to listen to was the one where you interviewed Bill Gaither! That was fantastic! I have a new love for something I didn't even know I was missing.. okay, so I might have guessed. You only bring it up every 3rd Sunday or so. Anyway... inquiring minds are dying to know.. did you get the list of single men from Bill? And, am I included in your list of "friends" that you mentioned? ;)
Great job! ~S

I love Bill Gaither and the Homecoming Friends just as much as you Lisa :) My friends can't believe how I can enjoy them as a 24 year old, but they are the ones that are missing out! When are you going to get Ernie Haase and Signature Sound on the show?! :)
4. Andrew said the following at 8:46 AM on Jul 31:
Not only is Mr. Gaither's music inspired, his hair is a true gift from the Creator.
Lisa, you have great taste in musical heroes.

Lisa,
I know you are a fan, but where were all the hardball questions? Some interviewer you are.
It's been a long time since I've heard some of this music, but after hearing the bass voice on some of those songs, I can't blame you for liking them! That's part of what's direly missing from most contemporary music, vocals with notes in the bass clef.

Mike #1: I KNOW! Amen, bro.
Stephanie #2: Sadly, Bill has done a big nothing so far to introduce me to single men. I'll have to remind him.
Sara #3: I interviewed Ernie and team, too! We'll see when we can run that one. Maybe one week when Motte's not around?
Andrew #4: I'm pretty sure Bill has stylists. Here we are after the interview: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=1634980&id=708123205

"::deep breath:: BG... Bill Gaither.."
BLESS!!
Lisa, this podcast ROCKED.
One downside: you claim the Bay Area or NOCAL... The only Cal love is SOCAL!
One of the best interviews EVER. BILL GAITHER!
Nothing against Molly Jenson, but what was she doing on this show. The only way you make a Bill Gaither interview better is if you have Jesus. No one else!
Enough of that and back to this... Bill Gaither! I just can't calm down.
Lisa, awesome job!!!
8. Mike said the following at 11:55 AM on Jul 31:
Lisa,
All I know is Lisa=Boundless. Who is this Motte guy and why on earth does he dictate whether or not a show is devoted to BG??
BILL GAITHER!
This is not the Molly Jenson hour. This is not the Motte "why do I have an opinion" hour. This is Bill Gaither. BILL GAITHER!
I'm going to need to stop and calm down. Go Lisa! Go Bill!
9. Jeremy said the following at 1:25 PM on Jul 31:
Mike, let's not make this too personal.
I agree with you that this needed to be devoted to Bill alone, but Motte has a right to his opinion... and his applesauce. I had to. sorry Motte.
Anyways, for the last time:
Rock on Bill Gaither!
Great interview, Lisa.
Oh, and if you put up the Signature Sound interview, make sure it isn't the full hour. They shouldn't get what Bill didn't.
10. Candice Watters said the following at 4:43 PM on Jul 31:
AWESOME! Lisa, this was a fantastic interview. I loved the conversation with BG and am super pumped it finally ran on the show.
11. Bekah said the following at 10:03 PM on Jul 31:
Okay, Lisa I'm beginning to think you've taken over the comment moderation for this post! Look at all this LOVE!! ;)
I'm happy to see that my vote of affirmation is unnecessary. :)

Awesome, Lisa!
13. LizH said the following at 4:07 PM on Aug 4:
Lisa,
Well, you've made me a Gaither fan! It is just the right combo of cheezeball Christianity ("holy highway"--ha ha!) and powerful theology ("I've been so loved that I'll risk loving too").
Plus, you really should be in PR :) because you have the ability to get people excited about the things you are excited about.
Great job and way to Gaither-ize the whole podcast.
Now, can you give us a list of your top 10 Gaither songs?
14. Timothy Wright said the following at 10:02 AM on Aug 12:
Hi,
I love your show and I find it insightful and encouraging. But Lisa, did you ever wonder if your absolute blind devotion to "The Gaithers" is the reason that you are single.
Tim
