Prayers for Jon & Kate & Family

This is not the place to discuss this family's lives or question their decisions. This is a place to offer up our written prayers to the Lord on their behalf.

Lord, please bring the Gosselins back together as a loving family. Please provoke family and friends to come close to them and encourage them as husband and wife to practice humility, tenderness and respect toward each other. Please comfort their children as they suffer through this painful season. And may Your name be honored through the difficult decisions both Jon and Kate make during the coming weeks and months. In the name of Jesus, amen.

Oh Lord, I am so burdened by the sorrow of broken hearts and broken families, but I am certain my grief is nothing compared to Yours.
May You work in this home, and in all those broken and torn in this world, and heal them. May individuals see their sins and selfishness, and turn towards You; may You work to make these homes strong in Your strength; and may You protect the children. May Your Name be honored among them, and among us.

Please be with the Gosselin family during this difficult time. Please help Jon and Kate to come together and work things out for You and their children. Please help them forgive each other. Please be with all the children during this time and most of all help them to come to know You.

Heavenly Father,
You are most worthy to be praised and adored. Incline your eyes and your ears to hear the prayers of your people interceding for Jon, Kate, and the Gosselin family. Lord, I pray that you restore what the enemy has torn asunder. That Jon and Kate remember why they married each other in the first place, what your plan is for marriage and above all, your love for them.
Lord, I pray that they earnestly seek Your face, that whatever strife, anger, pain, infidelity of spirit that has been rooted in their heart will be bound in the spiritual and earthly realm, thrown into the sea of forgetfullness and never to return again. Lord, protect their children, protect their hearts and minds so that no bitterness or anger may take hold of them and divert them from the plan you have for them all. Cover them in this season of grief and rain down Your spirit of comfort and peace.
Lord, I pray that Jon and Kate humble themselves and remember where You found them and not covet the ways of the world but Your ways, which are righteous and sure. Do a mighty work in their lives and show the world that You are able to restore and heal broken marriages. Let this become a testimony to the saving power of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who redeems the sinner, sets captives free, heals and forgives, and is worthy to be praised.
Father, let Your will be done in their lives. In Jesus name, Amen.

Please open the eyes of both Jon and Kate. This breaks my heart not only for them, but for their children as well. Lord, I pray that you will reunite them as a family, and that they may be a witness to your healing work in families. May Jon and Kate's hearts be burdended that this is not the answer to their problems, but just creating more.
I pray that you would work mightily, and restore this family. In Jesus' name, amen.

Please bring your healing hand over them for the sake of your children and your good name.

Father we thank you for the standard that you have raised up for this family even now. We thank you for this painful season in the life of this family. We thank you for allowing them to feel brokenness because you are always near to the broken.
Father it is only your goodness that leads us all to repentance. We pray that they respond to your goodness and allow you to restore their family so that You and only You get all the glory.
In the name of Jesus, we bind every foul spirit of the enemy which will seek to further infiltrate this family and we declare them off limits to the devil's wicked schemes and plans. Father we ask you, in your mercy, to cover them and we ask you to let their deep pain drive them only to you.
Lord Jesus, you are first and foremost a reconciler of man to the Father and of brokenness to wholeness. We ask you, on their behalf, to show Yourself MIGHTY in this family, that each member will reconcile him/herself to you and will invite you to have Your way as You restore them to wholeness

I pray Your healing Spirit would work in their hearts to incline them more and more toward you and the ways you have for them as your beloved children. I pray that both Jon and Kate would make whatever radical change you call them to in order to turn their marriage toward reconciliation, and that they would, by seeking you, be strongly convinced of the high worth of such a choice. Lord, You loved us when we were unloveable! You love us still now, when we sin against You! Please give the Gosselins an overwhelming understanding of Your persistent, dogged, enduring, never-ending, and *joyful* love for them, as Your people. Help them to see their marriage as a precious way in which to display such unworldly love to and for each other-- ultimately, as a witness to a world which does not know or understand such love. The enemy of our souls loves nothing more than to destroy Your covenant of marriage. Send Your emissaries, the angels, to ward off the forces that attack them. Speak wisdom and healing to their lives. Shield their children from the conflicts and from the ravages of media scrutiny.

I first want to repent and ask for your forgiveness for judging and talking about Jon and Kate Gosselin. This could easily be my life and I have no right to judge anyone. We can never think that we would not make certain decisions if we have never experienced what they are going through. Lord, I lift the Gosselins up in prayer right now in the name of Jesus asking you to touch them right now wherever they are. They have been through so much these past months and they need your love. God, I pray that they not try to do this on there own, but to remind them that your love covers all! God, I pray that they do not get a divorce and that they have the will to fight for their marriage and their family. I pray for a love experience with you in their lives. Touch them with your Holy Spirit to speak truth to them and help them to tune out the criticism and advice of those who are not speaking the truth. You are great and Omnipresent; therefore only You know exactly what is going on the private life of the Gosselins. My prayer is that Your Will may be done in this family ... may Your Grace and Mercy help them through this difficult time, especially the children. When I saw the episode of their decision to divorce, I burst into tears ... Lord you know why. I know what those children are going through ... but at the same time, I have seen Your Hand in my life and PRAY that they may see Your Hand in theirs too. Use this time to trial to burn away the chaff so that they may have a better marriage than they ever imagined as they are made more in your likeness as a picture of you and your church. May you prevent the enemy from distracting them and not allowing them to have time on their knees before you. May you give them time to listen to you. May you be lifted up and glorified through the trial. May they find joy in the trial and may your joy be their strength. We ask for a miracle of reconciliation that only comes from you according to your perfect will and timing. I also ask specifically for a hedge of protection from the enemy and media to surround them. May they feel your peace in the midst of the storm. Lord we love our brother and sister and pray you would heal them and heal their marriage, Oh Great Healer.
I ask all of these things according to your will for your glory in the most precious name of your son Jesus. Amen.

Help them to remember their original goals and dreams for their marriage and children. Remind them of the order of priorities: God, Marriage, children, self!
