Exceeding Expectations
by Ted Slater on 05/28/2008 at 10:46 AM

Speaking of young adults exceeding expectations ...

It came to my attention this morning that two of our authors, teens Alex and Brett Harris, were interviewed by NPR about their passion "to encourage teens to act responsibly, become leaders and change the world."

These young men challenge me, someone who's no longer a "young adult," to resist the low expectations I might have adopted for myself and pursue the Lord's will in all its vibrancy and adventure.

The only thing to expect in life is our death..To date there are only to recorded accounts of anyone going to heaven Jesus and the man hanging next to him..
The point of that being said, rejoice, live life with the only expectation that there is a house waiting for you ,and streets of gold.
God loves when we enjoy the life he has given us.Yes he comes first, then he wants us to stop and notice the Autumn wind,or the color of the leaves he has arranged, the double rainbow in the sky to remind us that, God keeps his promises, the smell of a crisp spring day,or the noise of a babbling brook,etc..all where created for us to enjoy.:O)

I notice a lot of people have a genuine love and heart for God they are thirsty ,and eager to go to the well, however if they dont stop to enjoy the very things God has created for us the growth becomes repetition, sometimes even stagnet and that becomes dangerous.
Be all you can be in Christ, with God given balance and wisdom..All the gifts of the Spirit are available, however there is one that is designed,Divine ,in you excel in it..periodically stop and smell the roses.
