Colleges with the Most Visits to the Boundless Line
by Motte Brown on Aug 27, 2007 at 3:03 PM

Ted's post got me thinking about which colleges are most represented on the blog when measured by visits. So I did some checking and thought it'd be fun to announce a top ten.

Over the last year (and it'll be a year August 31st since our first blog), Azusa Pacific University registered the most visits to our little blog with 1,246. Azusa Pacific is a Christian school in Southern California with an enrollment of about 4,200. Go Cougars!

Here's the rest of the ten (and a couple of notables):

2)  Amherst College -- 1,224
3)  Hillsdale College -- 1,058
4)  University of Oklahoma -- 1,010
5)  University of Chicago -- 990
6)  University of Michigan -- 891
7)  Yale University -- 847
8)  St. John's College -- 786
9)  Purdue University -- 669
10) University of Notre Dame -- 617

Overall, there were over 2,000 colleges with at least one visit to The Line. My alma mater, Clemson University in good ol' South Kakalaky, came in at number 20 with about 350 visits, about the same number as the University of Oxford. Not bad Tigers.

So whether it's one zealous fan with many visits or a group of you getting together at coffee shops to log-on, thanks so much for your participation. And keep reading. =)

If you like, you can use this thread to give a shout out for your school.

Belmont University, class of '97.... gooooo, Bruins!

2

Liberty? BJU?

Well, this post has made my day.

Oh, and sad to see no Canadian universities up there.

3

Boiler up! Go Purdue!

4

I attend Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas. I got hooked on the boundless.org site and this blog over the summer. I've gotten most of the people in my college ministry and my fraternity (Brothers Under Christ) reading the blog as well. I love it! Keep up the great work...

5

I'm more than slightly amused by the fact that OU is on there, given that that's my home these days... I wouldn't be surprised if a very high number of those visits were me. Zealous indeed.

Do you have stats for how many users from each school there are (because that'd also be interesting to see)?

6

Yeah Purdue!!! It's also awesome to see another Boiler Boundless-ite. Holla!

7

Are these unique hits or just hits? And also, depending on network technologies involved, you will probably get tons of hits from the same IP if they're using NAT and an internal network.

It could be one person who really, really likes to be updated with your blog :P

8

M GO BLUE!!!! GO WOLVERINES!!!!! GO BIG 10!!!!!

9

Yeah, being an IT geek, I'm wondering the same stuff as Nelson.

And any chance of getting a bigger portion of the list than just top 10? Considering Ted's estimate that about half of us are in college, I think it'd be cool to see where we all place. :)

I was at Penn State when Boundless started (I remember the ad that ran in the student newspaper) and after teaching for 5 years I am starting a graduate program at Indiana University of PA.
Most of my Boundless/Line viewing has been at a home computer with no university connection, but I just had to cheer on Pennsylvania schools here.

11

Katye:

Funny you should mention Penn State. They came in at number 11.

Nelson and Lee:

The percentage of unique visitors vs. visitors varies widely per school. But of the approximate 100,000 visits registered to college domains over the last year, 30,000 were unique.

12

Pretty much all of my Boundless-ing is on my home computer.

Although, I will tell you a funny story thanks to Boundless-

I once got a comment on my MSN Space from a girl named Amelia, I think. She read about me going to a national evangelical student training conference in Canberra called NTE (National Training Event), and that I came from James Cook University. Turns out she had read one of my comments on the Boundless Line and followed the link to my MSN Space, read about me, and left a comment saying she had also just returned from NTE and asking if I knew her cousin Esther Staines who also went to Christian Union at JCU- which I do!

Oh yeah, and while I'm here, a shout-out for ALL Aussie Universities, but ESPECIALLY James Cook Uni!!

13

Winona State, Winona, MN, USA.

I stumbled across boundless.org and trueu.org randomly and have been slowly spreading it around... there's nine or ten of us reading it now!

14

University of Maryland, College Park. Go Terps!

15

Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. Go Jackets, sting 'em!

16

Virginia Tech here, go Hokies!

17

I'm so proud of Azusa Pacific. The funny thing is, xeres and I probably made almost all of those hits.

18

Messiah College!!! woot :)

19

A big hello from the town of Toowoomba, University of Southern Queensland in Australia. We have no fancy nicknames (none that are repeatable on here anyway). All I know is that our motto thingy is per studia mens nova, which is latin for study through effort or something. If anyone could come up with something that doesn't contain the word kangaroo or something equally aweful, then that would be awesome!!

20

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, class of 2006!

21

Hi Leah, shouting right back from Murdoch university in Perth, Aust. I've never been to NTE as it's a bit too expensive, but a number of my Murdoch Christian Union buddies have been. I go to the more local AFES camps though! :D

I keep passing on links to friends. But I don't think they read it. Most of my friends don't spend as much time on the internet as me.

22

Awesome to see some Boilermakers on here! Go Purdue!

23

Go SCOTS! Covenant College here.

24

Motte, I'm at Clemson, & I read Boundless every day! We're out there, don't worry- go Tigers!

25

i'm excited to see amherst college on there, since I know it's in a very liberal town and is quite the liberal arts school, and highly academic. i think that's awesome that there is a large percentage of people visiting boundless

26

Hillsdale College is where it's at. Go Chargers!

27

Leah, may I ask which uni you go to??? One of my relatives works with AFES, and I live in the Brisbane area too and haven't come across many Australian bloggers (sorry to anyone who is!!!).

Anyway, just curious.

28

I am a Mississippi College alumni. I hope other Choctaws are checking out Boundless!!

29

Hail to the Victors! Go Michigan!

30

I'm from Michigan--started out at Northern Michigan University--but I'm now a super senior at Patrick Henry College in Purcellville, VA.

31

Go Irish! I had no idea there were so many domers on here!

32

I second Loris.
Covenant College class of '04!!

33

Moody Bible Institute! Studying for their Bachelor's in Biblical Studies right here at home in Roseburg, Oregon!

34

We are...Penn State! Any former/current Harvest/AACF members reading this blog out there?

35

Dan, your school's motto means through study a new mind. I just graduated from West Chester University and will soon be attending Université de Caen Basse-Normandie in France...where I will quite possibly be the only Boundless line lurker on campus :-)

36

Northwestern College, MN, home of the screamin' eagles. I got hooked on TrueU a few years ago when I was at a secular school, and then I've migrated over to Boundless as I've gotten older.

37

Kathryn- you're from Murdoch?! Do you know Claire Deaves?

38

Laura- James Cook University. Our staffworkers are Dave and Tori Walker, and Tim and Katrina Earnshaw.

39

yes I do know Clare. We meet up every Friday to read "The Fruitful Life" by Jerry Bridges, which she gave me for my 21st along with his "The Pursuit of Holiness." Great books, very encouraging. And Clare is awesome! :D Highly recommend her too. ;)

Haha, small world!

40

Go Falcons! I'm glad to see a Messiah student here! :-)

41

Eastern Washington University alumnus here! i've been a BW reader since 1998. GO EAGLES!!!

42

Kathryn- Clare used to be a staffworker at my uni. She left at the end of '04 though to go to Murdoch, and I started uni at '05. However, I did get to know her a bit at NTE '04 because I was there for Strand 12 (the special strand for people finishing grade 12 and going into uni).

What degree are you doing? I have a friend Sarani doing Vet at Murdoch. (but she isn't involved in MCU).

43

started reading this while at Palm Beach Atlantic University. anybody else from Florida?

hmmm. we should be in the top ten...a number of us read it. hopefully no one quit.

44

University of Dallas here...That's the small Catholic one, not the large TX state one! Though I've yet to move into the dorms, so....

45

If there's actually anyone out there reading this from the University of Chicago aside from myself, we should have lunch when the quarter starts.

46

I have a friend named Sarah doing vet from the eastern states (don't know which state tho), but I don't know a Sarani. I'm doing Primary Education.

47

GO CATS!!!

University of Kentucky here...

:-)

48

OSU!Go bucks!
